S.K.Balasubramanian Diamond Jubilee Tourney - Antiguards

Happy to announce the Diamond Jubilee Tourney of our Indian friend and renowned Chess Composer S.K.Balasubramanian who turned 75 on 1st May. The tourney will be for originals in TWO moves in the following five stipulations using the new Fairy Condition Antiguards, (invented by me -- Definition: only guarded men or kings can be captured/checked. Unguarded men are immune from capture). A short article about Anti-guards with five original examples was published in The Problemist, November 2024. Other examples were published in the May 2024 issue (three commendations in the Seetharaman-75 Jubilee Tourney Award) and in January 2025 (F3922). However, some of those examples while explaining the Antiguards do not qualify for this tourney. One recent example is given below.

Permitted stipulations: #2, S#2, R#2, H#2 and HS#2. (Other stipulations not allowed)

Multi solutions and twins are allowed in all sections, but no duplex or hybrid twins. No other stipulations, fairy conditions or fairy pieces. The award will be in different sections if justified.

Entries, preferably computed tested, may be sent to the Jubilarian .S.K.Balasubramanian <skbala_bhu2002@ yahoo.co.in.> who has appropriately desired to have first look at the entrie and forward them in anonymous form to the Judge K.Seetharaman. The last date for entry (no limit per composer) is 30th September 2025. Book prizes and diplomas to the prize winners. All participants will receive the award by email.

With the release of the latest version 4.91 Popeye (and Olive too!) now supports Antiguards. Winchloe had already implemented it.
