Black avoids the loss (by interference) of relevant access to g5 which is on the other side of thus determined critical square. Guess my answer. |

Some weeks ago Peter Schmidt found, that the bPa5 in the "wizardly" example by Fadil is not necessary:
(= 5+5 )
Now the cook 1.Ke6 Kb4 2.Kd5 R:d6# is impossible. |

BTW, in the position with bPa5 the wSf2 can be replaced with wPf3. |

I commented this problem a couple of weeks ago in PDB: "bSe5 can be replaced with bPe5 and wSf2 can be replaced with wPf3."
It is easy these days, with the help of computer, to improve old problems 😀 . |
