This version is a bit nicer, in my opinion:
(= 5+6 )
pser-h~x7 (5+6) C- [parry-series help-CapZug in 7]
Intent below:
1.Kd8 2.Bg4 3.Bd1+ Bxd1! 4.e2 5.exd1B+! Kb1 6.Bg4 7.Bc8 bxc8B!~x
I like the CapZug-specific pin in the final position. |

Cooked again: 1.e2 2.b1=Q+ Kd2 3.Qc1+ Kxe2 4.Qe3+ Kxe3 5.Bd4+ Kxd4 6.Kd8 bxc8=B |

The six-mover is also cooked:
1.e2 2.Bf5+ Kd2 3.b1=S+ Rxb1 4.e1=Q+ Rxe1 5.Bxc3+ Kxc3 6.Bc8 bxc8=B |

Well done, Kostas & Geoff! Guess I have to "bite the bullet", as they say, and nail down the wK:
(= 5+7 )
pser-h~x6 (5+7) C- [parry-series help-CapZug in 6]
Intent below:
1.Bg4 2.Bd1+ Bxd1! 3.e2 4.exd1B+! Kb1 5.Bg4 6.Bc8 bxc8B!~x
If this cooks, I'm officially going to cry. :-) |

No need to cry
No reason to cuss
For I'm here to tell you
Your work is C+! |

Thanks, Geoff, for sparing me the embarassment! Classic rhyme, BTW. :-) |

Almost as classic as "Doctor Foster" nursery rhyme! :)

Rhyming Geoff Foster came to the forum,
To test Dan's Capture-Bound,
He kept good decorum, though the problems before him,
Were not always computer-sound. ;) |

Not to be out-versed by doctors Foster and Begley...
There once was a Zug-ger named Dan,
Who struggled to find a good plan,
Finally he thought:
"Tie the wK in knots!",
And then he achieved a sound Scan. :-) |

Note: [x] tag found without matching closing [/x] tag! I was trying to understand how capzug can be nowadays tested. While WinChloe has it as specific goal, Popeye does not. But Popeye is mych quicker, so I delved into documentation where capzug is given as one example in the structured stipulation part. The example is for h~xn, where n is with halfmove. Namely:
Help CapZug in 2.5 moves is thus defined as
sstipulation black - 5h[/1d[x]a{!+}]h
This transforms well to help capzug in odd number of halfmoves (help capzug in 3.5 moves is black - 7h[/1d[x]a{!+}]h), but I was unable to make even number halfmoves work. I tried for h~x6:
black 6h[/1d[x]a{!+}]h
white - 6h[/1d[x]a{!+}]h
and some other ways, but nothing worked. When I shortened the intended solution by halfmove, the solution worked. Does someone know how to make it work, please? |

I have not tried to test stipulations from the Zugzwang family for a long time. Here is a link explaining the sstipulation in popeye but maybe in later versions something was lost... https://parryserieshub.chessproblems.ca/docs/ZugStips.txt |

Dear Arno, that's exactly what I needed. Many thanks! |
