Дорогие сербские друзья (обращаюсь прежде всего к администратору сайта), пожалуйста, проявите решительность - положите конец этой безмозглой дискуссии! | | (42) Posted by Marjan Kovačević [Wednesday, Mar 9, 2022 16:14] | The internal decisions made by some national societies, were followed by two WFCC online meetings, each lasting almost 3 hours.
The third one should be next week.
This is the text of official proposal by BCPS to WFCC:
Proposal
Until aggression and/or occupation of Ukraine have ceased:
(1) We applaud the proposal that Russia and Belarus will be banned from the schedule of WSC tournaments".
(2) As the same logic applies, Russia and Belarus should be banned from entering the 12th WFCC team composing tourney, .
(3) Russian and Belorussian composers and solvers should be excluded from all WCCF solving and composing tourneys, individual as well as team. The proposal that "Solvers with Russian citizenship can attend WSC tournaments of other countries only as WFCC persons " (presumably, Russian or Belarussian composers could similarly enter the next WFCC Individual World Championship for Chess Composition) is inadequate. It exactly follows the unhappy compromises attempted by FIFA and by the International Paralympics Committee. These compromises collapsed within 24 hours under pressure from the world's athletes, and were replaced by a blanket ban on Russian and Belorussian entrants. WFCC should also apply a blanket ban.
(4) Unless the aggression and occupation of Ukraine have been reversed, Russian and Belarussian composers should be excluded from the next Album.
(5) These proposals respond solely to Russian State conduct in Ukraine and imply no criticism by the WFCC of Russian or Belorussian problemists as individuals.
For information:
(i) The BCPS and its magazine, The Problemist, will (a) not print problems or other contributions submitted by Russians or Belorussians; (b) where feasible, will return any already accepted; (c) strongly advise BCPS members not to publish in Russian magazines or other chess problem outlets.
(ii) These BCPS actions will be terminated when Russia ends the war on Ukraine and occupation of its territory. The actions do not imply any criticism of individual Russian problemists." | | No more posts | Page: [Previous] [Next] 1 2 3
