I enclose a small improvement of Misha's s-h# 13 (C+)
(= 5+16 )

(222) Posted by Miodrag Mladenović [Saturday, Apr 9, 2022 21:18]

@(220)
There is a cook with 14.Se2#
Now I am testing the position with +wPg3 and +wPe6 (perhaps even without wPe6 will work). Still testing this position. It will take some time to test this.

This one may be correct but Popeye is still testing this position:

Arno Tungler/Miodrag Mladenovic
(= 6+16 )

ser-h#15 (C+)

Popeye confirmed that this problem is correct (intelligent mode).

Solution:
1.c7*d6 2.Sb8*a6 3.Sa6-c5 4.a7-a5 5.a5-a4 6.a4-a3 7.Ra8-a4 8.Qd8-a5 9.Ke8-d8 10.Kd8-c7 11.Kc7-b6 12.Kb6-b5 13.Kb5-b4 14.b7-b5 15.Sc5*b3 Sc1-a2 #

@(221) I would not agree that this is a small improvement. This is a big improvement. Two pieces less and white rook on the board! Great work!

Cooked with 2.f5 4.g4 7.Sf3 9.Kf6 11.Be3 13.Kf4 14.Qg5 Se2#

Currently checking with additional wPg3! Does not look bad…

EDIT Excuse me Miodrag, I only saw your post now!

@(224) That's what I wrote in my post 222. So far Popeye confirmed that there is no cook in 14 and it found solution in 15. However it's still running. And of course this is in the intelligent mode so it's not 100% confirmation that position is OK.

Just to confirm that after 1h 30min Popeye confirmed that this problem is correct (intelligent mode).

It's time for an nineth interim balance. [Edit 12/04 08:35]

It's hard to find the current record in section Ser-s= . It might be (113).
Several attempts surpass his problem but the might be cooked as well.

(222) replaced (214).

(189) has been cooked, current record is (171).

Current records are:

Ser-# ...11 ........... (39) Arno Tüngler (starter)
Ser-= ...18 .......... (159) Arno Tüngler
ser-s# ..17 .......... (124) Frank Richter
ser-s# ..17 .......... (128) Michael Schreckenbach
ser-s= ..22 .......... (113) Michel Caillaud (C?)
Ser-r# ..10 .......... (145) Joost de Heer
Ser-r= ..13 .......... (234) Joost de Heer
Ser-!# ..13 .......... (127) Joost de Heer / Michael Schreckenbach
Ser-!# MMM 14 .. (74) Frank Richter
Ser-!# MMM 14 .. (78) Joost de Heer
Ser-!= ..26 .......... (118) Dragan Stojnić (C?)

Ser-hs# .12 ........ (237) Dragan Stojnić (C?)
Ser-hs= .18 ........ (202) Miodrag Mladenović / Arno Tüngler (C?)

Everybody is invited to surpass one of the entries or to cook one marked C?.

I miss your name in the list.

(189) has been cooked:
1. c5 2. cxd4 3. d5 4. g5 5. Bd7 6. Ba4 7. axb6 8. Qd6 9. Qb4 10. Bg7 11. Kf8 then Rc8+ Be8#

@Miodrag (and Olaf) for the (222): As far as I understand, the intelligent mode in Popeye is as good as brute force, finding all possible solutions! It is just another way of doing that for (series-) help-mates and -stalemates. So, I think it is really C+!

@Olaf,

Please add Arno's name to the (222: ser-h#15). He participated in creation of this task.

If there is no bug in Popeye, the intelligent mode gives the same results as brute force.
Meanwhile Gustav confirmed C+ for (171), (221) and (222).

Ok for 189. But why replaced by 171?
Is 191, another ser hs#12, maybe cooked?(Mladenovic/Stojnic second version )

(191) is cooked in 11 moves:
1. c5 2. Qxb6 3. Kd8 4. Qb3 5. b5 6. b4 7. Kc7 8. Kc6 9. Kb5 10. Ka4 11. Kxa3 then Ra2+ Qxa2#

Could this work?
(= 5+16 )

ser-r=14
1. d4 2. d5 3. d6 4. dc7 5. cb8=S 6. Sd7 7. Sf8 8. Sh7 9. Sg5 10. Sf7 11. Sd8 12. Sb7 13. Ka6 14. Qh5 Rh5=
(possibly with a rook on a5 instead of a queen, or a bishop on h5 instead of a rook on a5 for a ser-r=13)
EDIT: Cooked in 13: 1. d4 2. gh7 3. hg8=S 4. Sh6 5. Sf7 6. Se5 7. Sd7 8. Sb8 9. Sd7 10. Sc5 11. Sb7 12. Ka6 13. Qd5 Qd5=

EDIT:
This is C+
(= 5+16 )

ser-r=13

The second one doesn't work:
11. Kxc2 12. Kd3 13. Qb2 14. Qxa1 ; Bb1+ Qxb1#

[Edit] Both positions vanished, maybe the first one is cooked as well.

[Edit again] It's not a good idea to change positions in a post. References to a position in a post number do not work anymore.
Should I write (No. xyz) between 04/10 12:34 and 04/10 14:56 is C+ ??

(236) second problem cooked by 11. Kf2 12. Ke3 13. Qg2 14. Qxh1+
(previous moves was 11. Kxc2 12. Kd3 13. Qb2 14. Qxa1 ; Bb1+ Qxb1# in Olafs post 236 about my post 235, both settings I deleted because they was with BK in check)
