Are you implying that the majority of people thinking that Mr Putin is a despot and a warmonger are incorrect?

Please stop your shoddy philosophy and confine yourself to the (excellent) works with SAT and royal grasshoppers !

While we all appreciate the wisdom of Mark Twain, maybe this thread isn't the place for witty aphorisms.
You should make your points plainly and clearly if you want to lessen the risk of being misunderstood by third-rate philosophers.

Even those who are sensitive to the expression of the majority will find it difficult to consider that banning Russian cats from felines competitions will have real effect on Russian tanks.

Which is exactly the eternal (manure like this doesn't happen
the first time in mankinds gruesome history) question when
military counteraction is out of question and it's down to
hollow symbolism:
- Symbolically severe all cultural and scientific connections?
- Symbolically gens una sumus the living daylights out of em?

Well, I can only speak for myself. I symbolically compose
a problem showing Ukraine cycle+Russian Nowotny. At least
it seems less hard than making peace again now...

Of course you're right - but it's not about stopping the tanks, it's about sending a message to the Russian people:
The World is turning its back on you.
If they don't like it, then they know what to do...

Happy to know that YOU are the world. To express my immense respect, I offer you another "witty aphorism", that I sung when I was young (yes, it happened !).
"Sit yourself down, take a look around" (Stephen Stills in 1970). A disciple of Mark.

It's not me that's the world!
It's those cat lovers you spoke about, the sportsmen, musicians, artists and problemists and all the other little people who are saying: If you want to be part of our world, don't go round destroying it!
If we all shout loud enough maybe somebody in Moscow will hear.

In the meantime, the BCPS posted the following announcement on their website:

Statement by the Committee on the Ukraine Crisis

After the bulk of the March issue had been prepared for publication, U.K. problemists watched the Russian invasion of Ukraine with the same shock, horror and revulsion as countless others in the chess problem community. In consequence, the British Chess Problem Society, and the editorial team of The Problemist, will henceforth not publish problems or other contributions submitted by Russians. This policy will continue for the foreseeable future. These actions do not imply any criticism of individual Russian problemists.

This is very sad !

What happens?
I still hope that the BCPS will change this
It cannot be.

"... the British Chess Problem Society, and the editorial team of The Problemist, will henceforth not publish problems or other contributions submitted by Russians...."

It is I think the first time ever such a thing happens, it is still time to step back.

This is a personal message to BCPS : please don't do that!

For a statement of the board of the Finnish Chess Problem Society, see
https://www.tehtavaniekat.fi/index.php/2022/03/09/tehtavaniekka-lehden-aineistosta/

"Starting from the issue 2/2022, Tehtäväniekka, the magazine of the Finnish Chess Problem Society, will not accept or publish contributions by Russian or Belarusian composers. The decision is made by the board of our society and is in force until further notice. This action is not against individual composers, but against the war in Ukraine, started by Russia and supported militarily by Belarus."

Thank you Seetharaman, I wrote also.

Jorma, this decision of the Finnish Chess Problem Society is most regrettable.

I understand our small world mainly as a group of friends. It is not easy to keep friends together.

Don't break this friendship, it is so precious. I would say, specially in these times.

Gentlemen, would you please add the Ukrainian problemists to your consideration? It is almost impossible for them to express an opinion. The situation and measures by magazines are not separated from what is happening right now in Ukraine.

Here is the latest announcement from the WFCC website:

Extension of WCCI and WCCT judging deadlines

The World Federation for Chess Composition strongly condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the involvement of Belarus and expresses its solidarity and support for the Ukrainian people. We feel deep sorrow for all the victims of the war and their families.

Ukrainian problemists are facing mortal danger right now, so it is unreasonable we keep the original time schedule of WCCI 2019-21 and WCCT-11; the deadline for WCCI judges and WCCT judging countries is rescheduled for 1st of August 2022. In the coming weeks we will have a more clear picture of the situation and will inform you accordingly.
