Study theme: Bury your queen

Surely Siegfried will know:
White has a mobile queen, but since Black is better on material
anyway, he plays on selfstalemate. Superbonus if White promotes
to queen first since B or R take a move too many to be filled
into the stalemate construction.

(= 8+12 )

Sketch (illegal, also after 1.c8Q Kg2 2.Qc2 Kh1
White draws by b3,a4, Q sacrifice too)

W. Kokke
Les pions sans gêne 1953
(= 7+8 )

1. c8=Q (1. c8=R? is too slow as it would take one extra move to go to h4, see main line) a3 (1... e3 2. Qg4 a3 3. Qh4 e2 4. g4 e1=Q 5. g3 Qg3 6. Qg3 a2 7. Qc3 Kc3 8. h4=) 2. Qg4 (2. Qc3? bc3 3. g4 c2 4. h4 c1=Q 5. g3 Qg5 +-) a2 3. Qh4 a1=Q 4. g4 Qa4 5. g3 Qe8=

As Krabbé wrote about this composition: The reason only a queen promotion works is that it's powerful enough to lose its power fast.

As always, my retrotemporal anticipation was spot on,
the componist only had to fill in the details :-)
(I'm too weak OTB now to find out how one can make Black
so strong that Qxg7 fails for White, but QxP after
self-stalemate fails for Black either...)

Addendum: Stockfish does not give his OK to the main line - already I myself
immediately saw that Qa4 may be replaced by Qc1, and Bf6 followed by Qh6#
will rip White out of his stalemate dreams. Instead, after a3 the computer
plays g4, holding Qxc3 for a move (0.0). Is the study kaput?

Just add a black pawn on e5, or something. Also the Qxc3 idea can be dealt with in a similar way - I hope.
