A record (?!?) NOT for surpassing :-)

The SCHWALBE retro informal 1993 has been judged 2011.
(See current SCHWALBE for details.)
I dimly recall another thread, is this the current "record"?

I don't believe 8 years is the record, but very "impressive" nonetheless. :-)

But 18 years is even more impressive :)

For quite a different reason(WWII), Chess in USSR 1940 (or 1941?) tourneys were awarded in the seventies. However, Costachel TT (when/if completed) will beat everything by far.

Thanks Hauke.

I have something waiting 10 years come January -- I don't expect anything from it (years ago, the feedback might have helped), but my chances can only improve with time.
Your post gives me a new reason to hope: I now can look forward to breaking the all time wait-record.
In the meantime, I'm on the lookout for long red lights. :)

The Die Schwalbe 1979 retro award by bernd ellinghoven was published in 2006 or 2007.
