PG10.5 Super-Circe Equipollents
Super-Circe Equipollents = Circe Equipollents + Anticirce Equipollents (of course).
But, wait ... there is a problem resolving rebirths when these two conditions are combined.
Both units, in fact, would share the same rebirth square!
Thus, I define the condition to give rebirth preference (when necessary) to the capturing unit.
OK, but then how is it any different from simply Anticirce-Equipollents??
Because, there is one special case where they do not share the same rebirth. :-)
My intent: 1.e4 g5 2.e5 f5 3.exf6 e.p.(+wPg7,+bPg6)! Sf6 4.g8=S! Bg7 5.Sxe7(Sc6) bxc6(d5) 6.b4 d4 7.c4 dxc3 e.p.(+bPb2,+wPb3)! 8.Sc3 b1=S! 9.Bb2 Sxd2(Sf3) 10.Qxf3(Qh5) 0-0! 11.0-0-0!

The only small reservation I have concerns the name of the conditions combination. In the Circe family, a word "Super" seems to be used for forms allowing quite free placement of the reborn pieces. In you case the rebirths are constrained, precisely defined, not freedom. | | (3) Posted by Kevin Begley [Tuesday, May 4, 2010 21:13] | Well, if memory serves.
Super-Andernach = Andernach + Anti-Andernach.
But, you are correct. In the circe family this has a different meaning.
The name should change... except that there is perhaps limited potential here (maybe it deserves no special name). | | (4) Posted by Bojan Basic [Tuesday, May 4, 2010 21:35] |

Interesting effect could probably be achieved using locusts, too. | | (5) Posted by Joost de Heer [Tuesday, May 4, 2010 22:07] | Kamikaze circe equipollents? [In kamikaze, both captured and capturee disappear, transforming that to circe equipollents: both captured and capturee are reborn according to the equipollents rule] | | (6) Posted by Ian Shanahan [Friday, May 7, 2010 05:20] | @Kevin. Anti-Andernach + Andernach = Magic Board!
I'm pretty sure it was John Rice who came up with the idea of combining Andernach with its opposite, as well as the name "Super-Andernach". But I told him on the phone shortly after this appeared in "The Problemist Supplement" that precisely these rules already existed as "Magic Board" (i.e. whenever a piece moves or captures, it changes colour) - it was invented by several Brazilian problemists sometime during the early 1960s. | | (7) Posted by Kevin Begley [Saturday, May 8, 2010 04:59] | @Ian,
Thank you for the information. | | No more posts |
