I'm not sure that everyone would accept if someone determined that it is better to have B/S than R/P, or vice versa. I would be the first to ask the question on the basis of which someone said that it should be this way and not that way.
I believe that in my positions, if such an opportunity arises, there will be both options, simply for the sake of variety.

There are still 2 months left until the end of the Mat Plus challenge.
The response of composers so far is excellent.
The vast majority of records have been broken.
I can confirm that for all 24 possible Mixed AUW combinations, the number of moves is less than 10!

Accept the challenge!

Problem check is the easiest and fastest with the Popeye.
The condition is Ser-h=n (n is the number of moves) with the help of the Intelligent mode.
Whoever uses Oliva can check the correctness of the composition very quickly (in seconds).

I expect your works by the 1st December.

I recommend this formula for overall ranking:
1) number of records hodling
2) average number of moves (records only)
3) average number of pieces
4) average points (type of pieces)

Is there any possibility to mark an entry as "C+"? Or is this specified by the tournament director only?

You can write (in the "Notes:" field) that the problem is C+. You did the same.
Mark C? is information that there has been a change in the problem, or it is a new problem.
When the director determines that everything is OK, he marks the problem with "C+".
If the author makes any changes in the meantime, the tag automatically changes to "C?".
If there are many problems, as here, this is very important. It's easy to see if the problem has been modified.
The authors themselves repeatedly correct their works.

A total of 226 problems from 17 authors were received. The two authors submitted only their joint compositions.

The previous tasks were improved in 22 out of 24 possible combinations of mixed AUW

You are good. I also submitted 22 tasks but only 6 of them are better than yours and a few of them are with a same numbers.

Here are categories where I have better numbers:
R/QBS 7-16-30
B/SRQ 7-11-28
B/SQR 7-15-34
B/RSQ 8-12-31
B/QSR 7-14-35

Important information for all participants- I will found ranking as follows:
In every cathegory 1st place=8 pts, 2nd=5, 3rd=3, 4th=2 pts (it is need sum of points will be divided by two or several authors);
Bonus points for orders by judge: Prize=3 bonus pts, HM=2 bonus pts, Comm=1 bonus pt.
Author with the most sum
of points (ranking pts+ bonus pts) will be overall winner of 1th MPTEC.
At equal number pts between two or several composers criterions for adventage at ranking are next:
1.higher number of 1st places
2.higher number of prizes
/3.HMs/ 4.Commendations
5.higher number of 2nd places, etc.as previos

If the points awarded are consecutive even numbers, you can always divide up among tied players without needing fractions

@Dragan

I do not think it's correct to change the conditions of the tournament after problems are submitted. This was "Technical Excellence Challenge" tournament. I had few perfect stalemate positions (ideal stalemates) but then I ruined them to save some pieces.

You should state this at the time of the announcement and not after the tournament. Or if this is the case then you should rename the tournament to something else and it should not be named "Technical Excellence Challenge" tournament.

I'd like to hear an opinion of other participants in this tournament but I am strongly against adding extra points for the artistics elements. Most of 22 problems that I submitted would be better with a few more pieces. But if this is a technical challenge then the problems should only be sorted by the criteria announced in advance.

Miodrag, you dont understand my post, no change of criteria.

Problems per sections
will be sorted by the announced criteria for MPTEC !
(by number of moves/ pieces / value of pieces)

Then some of the best sorted problems - only the best achievements in my opinion- will received
Prizes, Hon.mentions or Commendations (and bonus points), in order to tournament criteria of course.
It is clear now, I hope...

It means, only in section with more than one setting of the same value prizes are given.
It doesn't make much sense in my opinion.

@Dragan

Still it does not make any sense to me. Unless I missunderstood you will take winner problems from all 22 sectoions and then award them prizes, HMs etc. But my point is still there. Let's assume that someone made a task that is a signle task by adding a WQ to prevent cook (A1). But he had position without WQ that was perfect (A2). Now he will most likely not get any award because of unused or underused WQ. But somebody else in the other section (B1) will get Prize because even if his problem(B1) is not better than (A2) that is not even submitted to the tournament just because (B1) is better than (A1). It's non-sense to me. Unless I missunderstood something again.

If you are giving Prizes, HMs etc. within each section without considering other sections then there is an issue if someone is in section A single winner but there are 3 winners in section B the A will not get any prize but the B will get some extra points for prizes etc.

Am I missing something?

The participants composed their problems without artistic pretensions,
because the competition was called "Тechnical Еxcellence Challenge".
Only technical issues matter.
The last time I saw changing the rules after or while a competition
was 1984 when Campomanes abandoned the World Chess Championship.

I think the problems should be published as soon as possible. Now when you published records (I mean moves/number of pieces and points) it's very easy to find them.

For example I found this one:
(= 5+7 )

ser r=6

qbrS 6/12/20

Of course I'll not claim that this is my record but technically someone else can find some record in the meantime publish it and declare it as his own record.
So it would be fair to publish diagrams right away and then later on you can come up with an Award.

https://www.wfcc.ch/1999-2012/codex/#c6
22.2 (b)
(2) The priority date of a chess composition is
(a) the actual date of its first publication [27], or
(b) if it is first published in the award of a formal tournament, the closing date of that tournament.

So even if someone publishes the same composition in another magazine, your composition has priority because the priority date is december 1st.
I found the same position for qbr/S by the way (published on a non-public forum on Aug 27).
