Just for the record: Fritz Hoffmann, 2 f. (Both version of the last name
are very prevalent in Germany. For example, the LSD guy had only one :-) |

@Hauke
Fritz HoFFmann was not yet born in the 1880s, when Fritz HoFmann composed chess problems. ;-) |

No. Apparently you mean Fritz Hoffmann (1932-2016).
But the author of this #3 (that was published in 1887!) is of course another Fritz Hofmann (with one 'f'!).

The pattern 1.A? b 2.C. 1...a!; 1.B? a 2.C. 1...b!; 1.C! a/b 2.B/A has also been called as "Kontrawechsel".
A recent example with reciprocal change is https://juliasfairies.com/problems/no-1224/ |

Just for the record: The LSD guy Albert Hofmann was Swiss, not German :-) |

@Thomas
I think Hauke meant to write "prevalent in German", which should be correct [even by ultra-precise Swiss standards...] |

Wait, there are a Fritz with one and one with two f, both composers?*
Ah bother, all Germans are named Fritz :-)
* No, not Ffritz. That would be a Brit. (insert "Feuerzangenbowle" shout-out) |

Even german chess software is called "Fritz", but not Hof(f)mann ... |

Francois Labelle's engine is named after the mathematician Carl Gustav Jacob Jacobi :) |
