but can't find it. Give a position where only in
n moves it is possible to move a pawn or capture
an unit. with maximal n. (Of course the real fun
only begins if you could obtain n>50, or even
better n>75.) | | (2) Posted by James Malcom [Tuesday, Mar 2, 2021 14:10] | Hauke, this is the thread you're searching for: http://matplus.net/start.php?px=1585788191&app=forum&act=posts&tid=1097&fid=gen&page=0
The current record, by Geir, is 100 moves long in post 35.

Reset the 50-move rule in 100 moves
(= 13+12 )
I also put it here: https://pdb.dieschwalbe.de/P1374100 (I will correct the stipulation if needed) | | (3) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Tuesday, Mar 2, 2021 19:58] | THX! The rule discussion that came up elsewhere requires
that both White and Black *want* to restart, but can't
for a long time. (The K marches in the very early times
of the thread.)
Think of a chess game where the flag falls, but it is a
draw because of the 75-move rule being inevitably
triggered in any future move line. :-) | | No more posts |
