I am sad to announce that the famous Bulgarian chess composer Nikolay Dimitrov died last week in Varna (Bulgaria) at the age of 84. The funeral took place on Friday (28.02.2014).

A very sad news. Nikolay was a dear friend, a kind and quiet man, hiding great energy. We shall be ever grateful to Nikolay for initiating WCSC. He was the main organizer of the First unofficial world championship in "quick solving", held in Varna, 1976, and the Sixth WCSC, Varna 1982.

We heard from his daughter that he died on 23.02 (from heart attack), but our first information was that the funeral took place on 28.02. This is 5 days delay, so probably some mistake is on the dates, but I will check and inform soon.
