I think, it is okay to do so since composers must be considered prominent persons so the usual protection does not apply to them (still I think there should not be published overly private details without permission, just those that have encyclopedic value).
What do you think about it?
* Name is known to me but for certain reasons I won't tell it. Unless he uses a pseudonyme (I don't think so) he is not in this forum (yet?). | | (2) Posted by [Monday, May 21, 2007 21:28] | Many authors have already published this kind of information for players and
composers -- see for instance, Jeremy Gaige's Chess Personalia, or various appendixes
in White's Sketchbook, Weenink's The Chess Problem, or Grasemann's Problemschach,
etc. There are often mentions in obituaries in national problemist
periodicals, also.

It’s not like you are applying for job so that you do not want employer to be aware how old you are. In some cases it’s very important that birth date is public information. For example if there is a tournament for juniors with some age limit I think it’s mandatory for this information to be public. Otherwise anyone can compete at the tournament.

Are there some with some biographical details (studies, profession, work, places of life)? when its known it can be nice to see also. | | (6) Posted by Sarah Hornecker [Friday, Jun 1, 2007 16:51] | There are only two lists I know of.
