(all black moves leave only one mate, all 8 threats appear as mate),
and that number hasn't been upped for a "clean" Fleck (all black
moves *that at least parry one mate* and so on...), let alone
a "free" Fleck (all 8 threats appear as mate, ignore stupid duals :-)
I would even allow promoted material and other shenanigans...

HR, #2, Augsburger Allgemeine, 11.11.2023 (start of Fasching :-)
Or has someone newer news than the Morse and the Albrecht?
I'm quite sure I could do a free 9 in ten minutes when held at gunpoint :-) | | (2) Posted by Rosie Fay [Monday, Dec 11, 2023 18:06] | Charles Francis Stubbs

1 Bb2 thr Rgf7, Rge7, Rgd7, Rgc7, Rgb7, Rg6, Rg5, Rg4, Rg3, Rg2.
Each of the above 10 moves by wRg7 (together with four recaptures, which are not threats) is White's unique reply to some Black rook move. So, 10-fold Fleck. | | (3) Posted by Olaf Jenkner [Monday, Dec 11, 2023 18:59] | Number 12 in Morse's book at page 20 in my copy. | | (4) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Tuesday, Dec 12, 2023 19:05] | Morse even did a Karlström 10+10 (#842, Supplement 2nd ed.) and a complete R14
has been shown, but obviously I mean "no random battery threats"
(where YACPDB 31518 still holds the "perfect fleck" record). | | (5) Posted by udo [Saturday, Dec 16, 2023 17:56] | Hauke, search in albrecht for:
fleck8
fleckgebunden8
burkhardt14
burkhardtgebunden14
or
fleck7
and so on | | (6) Posted by Hauke Reddmann [Sunday, Dec 17, 2023 10:08] | @udo: already did that :-) but THX for the tip with "gebunden" -
I didn't know that keyword exists. (And neither "Burkhardt".) | | No more posts |
