It pains me deeply that my own government has undermined Ukraine for nearly a decade before Russia invaded, and that they have consistently undermined all efforts for a diplomatic resolution.
DC has their own agenda, and it's certainly not to advance the best interests of the Ukrainian people.
But you make a recklessly poor assumption to imply that my honesty in these matters suggests sympathies for Russia (or Putin).
You are not remotely competent to characterize my position. Do not attempt to pretend otherwise.
No matter how much better informed I may consider myself, I do not (I will not) use this forum to advance my political viewpoints.
I would be deeply ashamed of myself if I used my position as a tournament organizer to advance my own political agenda.
I will not partake in such cowardly remedies, nor would I join you in undermining this artform (and this forum).
Do not attempt to drag me into your political debate.
This is not the place for it, and you are substantially outgunned on every side of the argument.
You have no idea my position, and you leave yourself unbalanced every time you lunge at the mist.

Jorma thank you for posting the announcement, I wish your tourney good luck.
(I wish people discussed rather chess problems here, but apparently one cannot expect that, Kevin tends to flood his chosen threads with long posts arguing about whatever he wishes, always very politely, but for me infinitely annoyingly. Fortunately, it is possible to skip his long posts, even if admins are ok with them.)

Calling out the double standards is not whataboutism. An example of whataboutism would be if someone asked "What about Olympics ban for Germany, was it not right?" in attempt to validate a different ban.

I think this topic should be closed.
The composers expressed their views.
The discussion went beyond the framework of chess composition.
We've already seen that this can't be useful for problem chess.
I am not happy that Jorma posted this Announcement here.
It is the right of the Finnish chess magazine Shakki to freely announce its tournaments in chess composition,
and to limit individuals' rights to participate based on their citizenship,
but this Forum is not the right place to advertise such an approach.
The MatPlus website is supported by the World Federation for Chess Composition.
The WFCC has never made a decision to ban individual chess composers and solvers from any country.
The announcement in the Shakki magazine is against the position of the WFCC, and is therefore not welcome in this Forum.
