"1) If a unit Y makes a capturing move to a square s, then, after capturing ("take"), Y must execute (from s) a further non-capturing move ("make") obeying the (orthodox) move laws for the captured unit, as part of the complete capturing move. If there is no such move, Y cannot capture the unit.
2) Checks are orthodox, kings cannot be captured, pawns can never move to (or initially be placed on) the first rank of their own colour, pawn promotion takes place only if the pawn move ends on the 8th rank (and not immediately after the "take" part of a take&make move).
3) In the combination take&make-Circe, a Circe rebirth takes place only after the complete take&make move, not immediately after its "take" part."

ok, the "T&M Circe", is T&M + Circe with the precision T&M first and then Circe.
Not mentionned here that T&M itself would "belong to Circe family".

@Hauke,

I do love programming...
Many years ago, I lost a game to a simple chess program I wrote.
It was far from even a decent program -- I played carelessly, but still, intending to win.
It surprised me with an unusual tactic, turning the tables on my easy win -- leaving me the rare pleasure to simultaneously experience the thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat.
I highly recommend it. :)

re: bugs > 0

OK, good point: we will always have some bugs...
But, at least you'll know which program has the bug!
If we had a standard for fairy chess rules (something like the w3 internet standards), we would minimize incompatibility issues.
Maybe we could also indicate whether a problem conforms to a sanctioned standard (S+/S-/S? -- the latter meaning a problem shows some ambiguity in the rules).
That might provide an important clue for solvers (especially for serious problems which may border on being a joke)!

@Frank,

I read (and reread) Hartmut's introduction to T&M.
But, I don't see anything which addresses whether his invention is a member of the anti-circe family; and, I find no substantial reason that T&M can not be considered a new modality for anti-circe.
Maybe I'm missing something in the translation?

As I said before, I admire the T&M invention (and many outstanding problems it has yielded); but, if the form is completely equivalent, why not follow the standard naming format for any new modality in the anti-circe family?

Wouldn't you think the programmers would have encouraged him to follow this standard?
Were none consulted?

@Kevin
Hartmut's introduction to T&M is NOT about classification. It clearly mentions that "Take&Make" is a single move and any circe reappearance should happen at the end of T&M "Move" portion. This is important when the T&M move ends on the reappearance square of the captured piece in a "T&M - Circe" problem, or in similar situations.
