Looking for the exact source for this #2 by Bedrich Formánek

I know of a nice joke #2 made by Bedrich Formánek that has a very subtle illegal promotion, and it's YACPBD 41696.

Bedrich Formánek
1st Prize, 1966-1967
SV CSTV, 1966
#2
(= 10+7 )

I would like to track this down and see the original documentation for it. I also would like to know exactly what it won first prize in, and see the results of that tourney. I have no idea what "SV CSTV" stands for. The problem is reprinted in "Outrageous Chess Problems" with the source being cited as "Association Slovaque," but this doesn't really help me.

Can anybody help me find the source and the tourney that this problem came from? A scan or something of the original documentation is not needed at all, but it would be a nice addition.

CS = Czechoslovakian - or Československý šach.

So you might want to look in that magazine.

Maybe that helps.

Source is ČESKOSLOVENSKY ŠACH No.10 1967.
Link http://problem64.beda.cz/silo/ceskoslovensky_sach_1967.pdf on Kotesovec site.
I downloaded and can send you on email if you want.

In "Československý šach" were published some awarded problems, but the tourney itself is not tourney of "Československý šach". SV ČSTV means "Slovenský výbor Československého svazu tělesné výchovy a sportu" which is something like "Slovakian committee of Czechoslovak federation of physical education and sport". It seems that it was special tourney organised for joke problems.

Thanks for the info Michal. It would indeed by a joke tourney, which is why it would be of interest to me.

To be more exact:
The international tournament for joke compositions was organised by SV ČSZTV (Slovenský výbor Česko-Slovenského Zväzu Telesnej Výchovy = Slovak Committee of the Czech-Slovak Association of Physical Education - in Bratislava) with the closing date 31st October 1966 ("C 31.10.1966"). Juraj Brabec acted as judge, 170 compositions of 68 authors from 9 countries took part. The preliminary award was published in the daily Československý šport (Bratislava) on 7th May 1967 and final award in the magazine Šachový bulletin No 13-14 in May 1969.
It is necessary to add, that the stipulation of such a composition must be accompanied by the words joke composition (or joke problem), which is often "forgotten" in current databases.

Thank you very much for the information, Bedrich!
I have prepared the joke problem in yacpdb:

Please tell me if anything should be changed or amended.

@Roland(8)
The try and key moves should be promotions to Black Knight/Bishop. Is it possible to write solution that way? Otherwise it's confusing.

Evidently YAPCDB uses the same figurines for W and B.
I think that's a bad idea even outside joke problems,
but changing that on 500000 problems will be much fun...

P.S. Challenge to MPF - A joke problem where the critical defense
of Black is promoting to White (stalemate idea, but could
also work by interference/block). Like this sketch:
(= 3+3 )

#3
1.Kf2? h1=wS! 1.Kg2? h1=wB! 1.Kh1? (2.Ra2) 1.Kxh2! (2.Rh1)

Hauke, the work in that field has already been done by me and others in even greater lengths. Here’s a sampling of them from here: http://superproblem.ru/htm/composition/articles/stat105.html

James Malcom, Superproblem, 1024/19
#3
(= 10+9 )

Solution: fxg8=BN! g1=WN! 2. Ne2 dxe2 3. Rg1#

James Malcom, Superproblem, 11/2/19
#3
(= 9+11 )

Solution: 1. f8=BB! g1=WB! 2. e4 dxe4 3. Be3#

James Malcom, Superproblem, 1023/19
#4
(= 6+11 )

Solution:: 1. cxb8=BR! f1=WR! 2. Kb3 Kb6 3. Rxd5+ Kc6 4. Qd6#

James Malcom, Superproblem, 2/7/20
(= 11+10 )

Solution: 1. exd7! c8=White Queen! 2. Rb1 Bc2 3. Qa3- Ba4 4. Q/R/Bxb4 cxb4 5. Q/Bxb4#

And a masterpiece by Popov himself:

Grigory Popov, Superproblem, 10/23/19
#5
(= 13+8 )

1. c8=BB! d1=WN! 2. Nf5 gxf5 5. Nc7#
1... d1=WB! 2. Bh5 gxh5 3. Bg3 5. Nc7#
1... d1=WR! 2. Nf5 gxf5 3. Ra1 f4 4. Be4 5. Rxa6

Can any fulfill the task of a Black pawn into a White queen better than mine? I ask this because mine is dualed on the last two moves.

P.S. Hey Hauke, here too! Remember how you asked for a problem where White wins by promoting a Black queen a couple years back in that thread on dummy pawns? Well here is one such problem! I’ll leave to you to solve the rest and figure out the reason for a Black queen. D

Gyula Breyer, Magyar Sakkvilag, 1918
White To Play And Win
(= 10+14 )

1. exf8=BQ!

I am afraid it is necessary to change some data:
(wrong) SV ČSTV 1966-1967 ............(good) SV ČSZTV C 31 October 1966
Československý šport 7 May 1967 - should be deleted, because it is not important (the award can be published anywhere without stating place and date)
(wrong) #2 10+7 ............ (good) #2 Joke problem 10+7
(wrong) 1.e8=white knight? ............ (good) 1.e8=black knight?
(wrong) 1.e8=white bishop! ............ (good) 1.e8=black bishop!
(the database has to permit to publish any symbol (sign) of modern fairy chess!)
As to "C 31 October 1966": closing date is basic for finding predecessors etc. - it is permitted by old decision of WFCC (PCCC).
I apologize for my "criticism"... B.F.

@James: Surely, ultimate reason is stalemate, the rest I'm too lazy
for given my ELO dropped 200 points recently...

I think my problem has its existence justification in a) material
b) some "logic" touch ("Auswahl-Vorplan").
