Unfortunately, the organizers did not even printed Bulletin with the results of the competitions

Diyan, I don't think that any WCCC bulletin in the past had information about WFCC decisions, new titles, etc. A summary of the most important decisions would appear in the WFCC website a few days later, and the detailed minutes much later. The first version of the bulletin had only three composing tourneys, but by last Sunday, everything was included. The bulletin is available online, at the home page of the Congress and the latest version was updated yesterday.

Andrey, not giving a printed bulletin to the participants started last year in Bern. For most of us, it is not important, but there may be some who either don't have access to internet, or prefer the printed copy. Personally, I prefer a complete and corrected bulletin online, to a printed one that has countless mistakes and only some of the composing tourneys. In any case, it is up to the WFCC to set the standards for the bulletin in the future, if what is happening now is not acceptable.

About the bulletin: I have already said so in Berne, and I'm repeating it now. There's no need to have a printed bulletin these days.

This is the first Congress, where the participants had no badges

Oh, yes, you are right Kostas - other Bulletins also do not present information about the decisions, so apologise.

But this year I was not on WCCC and realized how bad is for people who are not on the congress during the whole event (and even about one week after it) to not have information about WFCC meetings and decisions. Even we was not informed about the next WCCC and ECSC (only Marjan post info about it here - by the way congratulations to all Serbian chess friends!). I really do not understand why in the official congress website or on WFCC website was not published (even short) daily news (it is easy to be done - cost only 10-20 min to be prepared and published)!?

Also - we are living in 21 century, why still nobody make a video transmission of some solving show? It is very simple - just 1-2 normal web cameras (which cost about 20 Eur) will be enough to make exciting stream for all chess composition fans all over the world...

I second Diyan on the video transmission suggestion.

Also, I feel the same technology could be used to involve people not attending - for discussions, lectures, etc.

Maryan, please note! ;-)

To Andrey: If the missing badges was their worst mistake, then it must have been a great Congress. Wouldn't you agree?

BTW, I recognized you right away, without a name tag :-)

To Diyan: Didn't you get the info about your new title in real time? ;-)

You and I have already discussed the video broadcasting of the solving show last year: There are legal problems to solve first (you'll need at least consent of all the participants IMHO).

Yes, Franziska, I received info about my IM title on time from you - thank you about that! But the official info about the new titles and decisions (even about the next year WCCC, WCSC, ECSC) was published about 10 days after it... I believe that it can be improved in the future, because as I said the daily short news are easy to be prepared and will "cost" only 10-15 min to be uploaded in the official website and all fans will follow them.

About the video broadcast of some solving show and also prize giving ceremony - I believe that this will be great and very easy to be organized! Each organizer of event have right to do this and actually we was more than ready to do it if the congress was in Bulgaria... Even - we was ready to organize and make video translation also of a chess tourney and grandmaster level show game (world champions GM Veselin Topalov and GM Antoaneta Stefanova was in our plan) during the congress. Nevertheless, all is in the past now. But I hope in the future it can be done. The fans will be happy.

About the missing badges - yes, probably this was not so big problem and also all we know that organizing such an event is not an easy task and sometime not all can be perfect. You said that you recognized Andrey without his name on a badge. Yes, but there were also new participants which saw for the first time many of the composers and solvers (for example see the report on Julia's website) so probably they miss to meet some people.

Well, I am sure that the congress was very good and the organizers did all in best possible way. But also hope in the future that some improvements can be done, because nowadays it is possible.

At http://www.wfcc.ch/meetings/decisions2015/ - “New titles: Grandmaster of the FIDE for Chess Compositions“, Torsten Linß (GER, meanwhile 73.92 Album points according to WFCC website information) is missing.
Has any unpublished decision been made at the congress concerning consideration of database problems for individual composing titles?
If not, which other explanation could be possible?

@ Marcel: Torsten Linss has asked in written his name not to be included in the list of (GM) title-holders. We respect his wish.

If you need further details about the reasoning of his decision, I suggest you contact him directly.

I, too, immediately saw.
Were many new names that I wanted to meet you, but didn't know them in person.

Nice B&W film clip..!
But I think Andrei has a point.
Having a badge discipline at such events helps to:
1. Identify participants to each other, especially when they've never seen each other before
2. Allows identification of gatecrashers
3. With the increasing trend of terrorist incidents at hotels and tourist spots, spotting a person without a badge may well make a crucial difference

In the Ostroda photos, I couldn't spot any hotel security people or CCTV cameras either..

The organisers of the next meeting in Belgrade should give a thought to the above points.

Maybe I sound too paranoid, but that's the world we live in today..

Some chess composers very strongly get drunk at chess festivals, so they need badges that will help them to remember who they are and where they are. :)
