Nice R#2 by Gorbatenko

Few days ago SuperProblem published the following nice problem:

G014. Yury Gorbatenko
SuperProblem, 10-10-2015
(= 11+10 )

R#2

1.e6! [2.exd7 Rd6#]
1...dxc6 2.Sed5 c5#
1...dxe6 2.Sbd5 e5#
1...d6 2.Bd5 Sxe5#
1...d5 2.exd5 Rf8#
1...Rf~+ 2.Kd5 Qxe6#
1...Rxe6+ 2.Kd5 Rd6#

Beautiful problem where Pickaninny is answered by white moves to the same square d5. There is an additional 5th variation where wK plays to d5. Nice combination.

It's possible to save two pieces:
(= 8+11 )

R#2
1.e6! [2.exd7 Rd6#]
1...dxc6 2.Sd5 c5#
1...dxe6 2.Bd5 e5#
1...d6 2.Qd5 Se1#
1...d5 2.exd5 Rg6#
1...Rf~+ 2.Kd5 dxc6#
1...Rxe6+ 2.Kd5 Rd6#

The position saved two pieces. However it's questionable if this is improvement because there is no dual avoidance in variations 1...dxc6 and 1...dxe6.

Very nice problem! Not seeing many strategic R#2 nowadays. The five variations on the same square are a wonderful task, the motivations being arranged so beautifully.

Variant after 1...d6 must be 2. Bd5, not 2. Bb3.

You are right. I corrected solution in original post. Thanks for catching this.
