### Around The World-Four Forced Corners

To share, and not make you solve, an amusing selfmate problem that I made, here's a s#7 in which the white rook is forced to visit all four corners before finally delivering checkmated to Black, unwillingly.

BTM, s#7

The tricky part in making this was finding a way to force the White king to a square while maintaining control of it's previous square all while making sure that the others qaures it needs to move to are also covered. Plus, no self-interference and no promoted pieces made it even more difficult to make. But, alas, after many, many hours, I finally found a way to do it-use some knights! They can move, unattacking the square they were attacking, and attacking the square the White king is on, forcing the WK to the square that it previously had just covered.

I made the solution to my problem unique. I even added in a self-pinning move by the c6 rook, as there would be tons of duals otherwise! The other rook has must protect the knight that comes to it';s range, but only one square works, as the other one is needed to allow the White rook to pass through.

Another thing that I did was to minimize my piece usage of course, but with such a formidable task, it was no surprise that all of Black's officers were used up.

What are your thoughts on my little "around the world" selfmate problem?

ADD-In: Using a Queen instead of a rook allows for a piece to be shaved off. It's hardly an improvement though.

Can anybody check my version? My PC is way too slow for a s#10. (Same flaw as Pauli's rendering P1081759 with a rook.
Cf. also P1179699. Be kind to it, it's my only s# ever, and THX to Rewan for inspiration :-)

You're very welcome!

Promotion duals just plain suck. My problem is otherwise solid as far as I can tell. I even threw in a self-pin in there. Is there an official name for such a thing?

You're problem looks pretty solid as far as o can manually tell. I see no alternate way to get the Black King back to their first rank.

Also, forcing the Black King back to their home sqaure is a nice touch!
