The Australian solver Dennis Hale has cooked the following celebrated selfmate.

Jozsef Balazs, 1 Prize, Blathy Memorial, Magyar Sakkvilag, 1941

The intention is: 1.g3 f3 2.R7e3+ Kf7 3.Rb4 Kf8+ 4.Rc4+ Kf7 5.Rc5 Kf8+ 6.Rd5+ Kf7 7.Rd6 Kf8+ 8.Rde6+ Kf7 9.Re7+ Kf8 10.Rb3 axb3 #

The cook is: 1.Re6+ Kf7 2.Rb7+ Kxe6 3.Qxg8+ Ke5 and now there are many choices e.g. 4.Qe8+ Kf5 5.Qf7+ Ke5 6.Re7+ Kd4 7.Re1 f3 8.g3 Kd3 9.Qd5+ Kc2 10.Qb3+ axb3 #

It seems impossible to correct the position.
Gustav gives a cook in 7:
