I expect the results of this championship with big interest. In 2003 in the World championship in Moscow Selivanov, also as well as in this European championship, was related to holding the tournament, and, for certain, many people remember how that championship ended. (Speak, there was even a protest from delegation of Israel and interesting article in the magazine "Variantim" later. It would be interesting to read them.)
Besides that, some solvers from different countries, for whom there is no concept "fair play", are participating in this championship, and, as any sanctions to them isn't applied, I assume, that they will act more and more impudently, so there will be a sharp conflict inevitably which will pour outside as it was at chess with players Borislav Ivanov ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borislav_Ivanov ), Sergey Klimentyev ( http://en.chessbase.com/post/yacs-at-the-botvinnik-memorial-open ) , Sebastian Feller ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sébastien_Feller ), toilet-lovers Christoph Natsidis ( http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/another-chess-cheater ), Baris Esen and Falko Bindriсh ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falko_Bindrich ) and others.

It will be interesting to see, how many participants with a rating less than 2400 creeped into the championship over quota, which is allocated for the country by Rules of ECSC.

The closing ceremony of ECSC was scheduled for 16h and probably most of the participants had to start traveling home. It's hard to believe that the results were not ready and announced in the afternoon.
What in the 21st century could prevent publishing the results on the internet immediately?
Was it a secret tournament or just nobody cares about informing the public?

Thank you for the information.
Small remark "Петр Мурдзя и сборная Польши - чемпионы мира 2014 года" should be corrected to "Europe", but surely it can be saved until the World Solving Championship ...

I can't believe! Skinny unofficial information.
Did ECSC take place this year or the tournament in Igalo has nothing to do with WFCC?
Reporters of some sport-media would publish the fresh news and they ask about the results. But they find that even problemists themselves are not interested in it.
Well, I am interested and I'm sorry for disturbing all those who are not.

Dear Nikola!
www.selivanov.ru -this site was announced as the official site of the championship and all the information is there.

No team results are available. The Excel sheet contains only rating calculation for individuals. All details are missing, for example the solving times.

Dear Andrey,

how far are we from a full and timely report? We have no paid journalist who would describe the drama of a competing event.
But at least, a table showing a progress through the rounds, would reveal something.
When the judge declares the results, he already has some table with all points and times, this only should be uploaded to the internet.
Perhaps I don't see some difficulty which makes this task impossible.

As it is now, the media could bring the report to the wider public: "Here is the freshest report about ECSC which happened few weeks ago..."

The full results are now available at the WFCC site. On behalf of the federation, I would like to warmly thank Ryszard Królikowski for all of his work and the very well balanced selection of the problems. All in all, it has been a very pleasant long weekend in a nice venue.

We replaced the scanned PDFs of the problems and solutions, which were of rather poor quality, with PDFs made from Word. They look much better now.

A clerical mistake was spotted in the table of the ECSC individual results (points and time of the solvers were OK, only the column denoting the place was not accurate for a few solvers). It is fixed now.

I should also point out that the director (and myself!) felt quite uneasy when reading some of the sharp remarks written in this thread about the delay in making the full results available on the WFCC site. The results were available on time at www.selivanov.ru and everyone could see them. Yes, they did not include the solving times, they did not show the solvers' points per each problem and the names of the solvers of only the three top teams were mentioned. Yet, everything important was there: the points of all solvers, their ranking, their performance, norms achieved, etc. I cannot really understand the fuss.

Ryszard had to work under very harsh conditions in Igalo: Paul who had volunteered to help him passed away a few days before the event, Andrey was in the hospital; so, Ryszard had to do all the work by himself supported only by two friendly members of the organising team who helped in supervising and collecting the solving sheets. Olga Selivanova helped also a lot with the preparation of certificates, taking photos, etc. Even so, he did everything on time showing a high level of responsibility. Personally I was really impressed.

I know that in such events one or two persons are overburdened with work and responsibility. Instead of well deserved respect and gratitude they get "sharp remarks" (as well as the other volunteers).
I'm very sorry about Andrey's troubles, I hope it was nothing serious.

I try to speak about some phenomena in principle, forgetting that the involved individuals might take it personally.
I am deeply sorry for that, I should have been utterly careful to avoid any possible misinterpretation and injustice.
I must apologize and make it clear, my intention was not the remarks about the persons, not even about that particular event.

The point is, are we (problemists) interested in the thrill of solving competitions and how could we improve the "broadcasting"?
I am very interested but I feel lonely.

Two glitches were found in the table of the ECSC team results.

Great Britain has 170,60 (not 169,60) points and Belarus 86,55 (not 88,55).

The scores are fixed now in the PDF file. Nothing changes in the ranking.

"Full results" are without points for each problem, team results (and time) for each round and some other information that was always included in standard tables of grand solving events in old good times - when geocities.com.solvingchess was alive. Problems of solving show are not published also.
By the way, may be, the WFCC will find the possibility to publish the problems of solving events of WCCC in Rio-2009? They were not published nowhere in Internet.

The tables on the WFCC site include all this information.

This is an unofficial competition, just for entertainment, so we did not consider necessary to include the problems too (as it was done for all solving shows and quick solving contests in the past). I shall ask the director and revert.
