Isn't Agapov's second Prize at least partially anticipated by the second Honourable Mention (by Stepochkin) in the Vladimir Bron memorial tourney?

Congratulations to the director Petko Petkov and the team of judges, for completing the results in less than 4 months!

Yes, congratulations to everybody!...but wo has given to Andrej Selivanov the authority to organize this "World Cup" and to award these titles? As far as I know, FIDE does not federate the composition world. Or did I miss any election?

Andrey is FIDE Vice President, so I guess he's allowed to do that.

Anybody has the right to organize their own composition tourney.
However, I do agree that the name of Mr.Selivanov's tourney, "FIDE World Cup," is a farce.
Only PCCC should have the authority to sanction a global tournament with such an official title.
Otherwise, I must consider this only the equivalent of any JT / MT.
It would be a farce if I organized (and appointed judges to) a "Global Composing Championship Tournament of 2010."
I do understand that the name is meant to appear analogous to the FIFA World Cup; but, until this event is sanctioned by the PCCC, participation is, inherently, contrary to our own best interests.
I consider this a further abuse of Mr.Selivanov's position, within FIDE.
In a normal universe, FIDE would take swift action against a V.P. who constantly discredits their brand.
And, PCCC would take swift action against FIDE, for allowing this V.P. to perpetually circumvent (if not usurp) proper authority.
But, in this non-Euclidian parallel reality, which we call home, FIDE's brand is so beneath erosion that it risks nothing to stand behind even the perpetual failure of this orchestrated campaign (against PCCC).
What great value, hidden beneath the surface, could possibly motivate (never mind justify) such an extreme bent against a democratically elected body (and why not share the potential benefits)?
Why not make the case, in the light of day, and bring the matter to a vote (all in favor of disbanding PCCC, for FIDE, say Nay)?
And, how can so many of our good colleagues quietly bury their heads about this, if not to drink FIDE's sand?
Unfortunately, a significant number of strong participants can so easily dismiss the "hollow politics" surrounding this event, which liberates their pursuits of FIDE's tin cups.
Ultimately, I take comfort knowing that the titles we award our tourneys (and ourselves -- much like the "Composition of the Year" award), are only as good as the participants (especially the judges).
Future historians will make far better judges (of us all)!

P.S. BSG fans, please don't misconstrue my post as a wish
for placing Andrej in front of a firing squad because of mutiny :-)
P.P.S. Gerhard Josten is heavily pleading for abolishing all
these titles and awards altogether. Also a solutions.

Are you sure that Gerhard Josten is heavily pleading for abolishing titles and awards?
This suprises me, as he has competed in every WCCI.

Gerhard Josten for FIDE V.P.!

@Guy - Sure I'm sure, I translated his article into English :-)
(But I forgot where it was printed. e.g. maybe.)

Thanks Hauke, that's fine.
I agree with Gerhard in his fight, and from today I am also pleading for abolishing any title and award that he could win in the future.
