Callers from abroad dial +49 241 36784 but I think, e-mail is preferred.

One of the problem in ordering such books - for me at least - is the prohibitive bank fees US banks put on transferring funds - often the fees can be more than the price of the book (#20-$30 is not uncommon). So usually I have to wait until the book shows up in a used book seller.... There may be other ways, but I have never figured it out.

I often send money per letter and it never was stolen until now. You just have to conceal it and preferrably send registered mail. :-)

Steven,

Mike Prcic, the chief editor of StrateGems, accepts payments on behalf of Mr. Ellinghoven in the USA. You send a personal check to him and receive the Album from Mr. Ellinghoven. You should contact both and arrange the payment. They does not charge any fee for this great service. You may pay for some chess problem magazines from Europe this way as well.

Thanks all - yes I know those options. Mike has a great service and I've sent probably $2,000 in my life in cash to Europe for my chess magazine habit....

Just wish it were the easy "tell the bank to send the money" option....

I wouldn't trust banks. They make a protocol of every transaction, leaving a lot of potential of abuse.
