What does it mean in Russian: "но молодым автором такой сложный комплекс выполнен вполне неплохо"?

The phrase is in the threemovers' verdict above.

Retros - http://www.selivanov.ru/newss/?act=show_news&id=10

It seems that there is a mistake in the 1st Commendation. According to the solution given at http://www.selivanov.ru/download/Awards/2010/OlympicRetros.doc, the position is released when the diagram below is reached.

(= 16+15 )

However, this position is clearly illegal (look at the black pawns).

Uncapturing the black knight on b4 (instead of the black pawn) doesn't work either, since all the white pieces are on the board, and therefore the black e-pawn (which is the only missing piece) couldn't be captured on f3 (and couldn't had been promoted either).

Sorry, what's the issue? The original black knight is captured on f3, the black pawn promotes and the other black knight is then captured on b4. What am I missing?

EDIT: However, you're right in that the solution should have stated that a black knight is uncaptured and not have left that to readers.

I was under the impression that retracting a3xb4 (as stands in the award) means uncapturing a pawn (what clearly results in an illegal position). I admit, I wasn’t paying too much attention to the other possibilities, what I wrote afterwards was only after the first glance. Your explanation makes perfect sense, thank you. (Actually, it does not even have to be a knight—uncapturing a queen or a rook works just fine, too.)

Third Prize from this tourney was completely anticipated (mirrored position) by V. Pilchenko & I. Storozhenko, Shakhmatnaya Poeziya, 2002.
Such coincidences are often possible when a theme or a mechanism becomes fashionable. This mechanism of reciprocal change, based on closure of two white lines, was largely popularized during the 6th WCCT. (Even at that time, the mechanism with WS as thematic piece wasn't original.) After the 6th WCCT, many composers kept elaborating the mechanism. The natural possibility of adding the third phase with battery mates to complete Zagoruiko 3x2 was independently discovered by different composers.
In this special case, one attractive detail helps arriving to the identical position: the way rear pieces come into action when BPs capture WS.
Back in 1997 Pilchenko published a very similar combination, only step away from the one mentioned above:

V. Pilchenko 2HM Probleemblad 1997
(= 13+10 )
#2
1... Kd5: 2.Td6#
1.Sd6? ~ 2.De4# 1... Sd6: 2.Sb3# 1... Sg5 2.Sf5#
1... Kd5: 2.De4# 1... Ld5: 2.Sf5# 1... Tg7!
1.Sg5? ~ 2.De4# 1... Sd6 2.Sf3:# 1... Sg5: 2.Sb3#
1... Kd5: 2.De4# 1... Ld5:!
1.Tf4! ~ 2.Sf6# 1... Sd6 2.Sd6:# 1... Sg5 2.Sg5:#
1... Kd5: 2.Dd6# 1... Ld5: 2.Db6#

Both problems could be found in Pilchenko's excellent book "300 chess problems" (Moscow, 2004) that contains many predecessors of later #2 ideas.

I don't think that this is anticipation at all (I prefer to say that one problem recall to another). Even position is the same but only and at the same time crucial difference is that position in 5th prize Oly.T. 2010 shifted one line left so this produce new thematic phase (try) with three changed model mates! So, with small difference in position (only shifted line), appeared for me, new excellent problem. Question is if author (Pilchenko) knew previous problem (potential predecessor) or not, so he probably should declare after Suchkov.

1st HM still has a reference to '1st prize' in the solution, but since Dittmann's composition was found to be unsolvable, the text of the 1st HM should be changed too.
