The idea of 9th Azemmour can be verified by Helpmate Analyzer. |

How is the theme defined exactly in Helpmate Analyzer? Is it mandatory to distribute the cycle over at least two phases? |

There are no restrictions on the number of phases in Helpmate Analyzer, there can be only one phase. |

Important : The cycle should be bi-color , White/Black; Black/White , White/Black and Black/White.
The idea has been entered into Helpmate Analyzer with all the conditions for the idea.
See the exemple ..
This cycle is no thematic : White/black , White/White ...... |

This information comes quite late ... too late, I think.
In my opinion all originals showing the announced theme should be accepted by the judge. What about two groups of entries, one for only bi-colored cycles and one for all others? |

Frank
Did you ask me a question about the tournament that I didn't answer in time?
The example is clear, it shows a cycle of line openings between white and black pieces.
Helpmate Analyzer only validates an idéas that respect this condition.
Early , one composer sent me a twin that was not validated by Helpmate Analyzer.
The problem was quickly resolved by Vikotras. Big thanks.
I've only received problems thematic other than yours.
I don't understand why you're offering me a second section?
Already one, it takes up my time especially since the competition is open and with unlimited submissions. |

Based on the clarifications by Abdelaziz, I have refined the definition of the theme in the Analyzer's glossary. I also added a note that reciprocal change is not a cycle, so the minimum number of thematic pieces is four, the minimum cycle is AB-BC-CE-EA. |

It turns out that the rule of thumb "anything that's not explicitly forbidden is allowed" from another post https://www.matplus.net/start.php?px=1693572060&app=forum&act=posts&fid=tt&tid=3058&pid=25056#n25056 is not universal. The announcement of the 9th Azemmour did not specify what would be thematic for this tourney, until a few days ago. I can see how some composers may get frustrated by this. I guess it never hurts to ask. |
