It has now been a month since the start, and what can surely be said is that the participants have composed some extraordinary problems.
Beautiful and elegant ideas have been developed, and it is personally a pleasure once more to be able to follow it in the front seat.
It is very far from over, a month is a long time, and anything can still change rank wise. Whoever starts now has an important advantage by knowing what is already possible, and what one should strive for. Thus everyone interested is still of course very much welcomed, and can be quite competitive!
Hereunder the rankings of the best first three of the two main categories, and all the different results found so far from 4 to 10 pieces in total:
Category A1
1. Cornel Pacurar: 104 moves with 13 pieces.
2. Arno Tüngler: 104 moves with 18 pieces.
3. Ralf Krätschmer: 103 moves with 19 pieces.
It is quite incredible to reach 100 moves, it was not clear in the outset that it was at all possible! And each one being very elegant to say the least.
Category B1
1. Arno Tüngler: 65 moves with 17 pieces.
2. Jàn Golha & Ivan Skoba: 62 moves with 19 pieces.
3. Cornel Pacurar: 47 moves with 14 pieces.
This category is quite special, calling for problems of x moves, having no solution in x moves but only in x-1 moves. The problems here are also most elegant.
Category A2
4 pieces: Guy Sobrecases, Arno Tüngler: 17 moves.
5 pieces: Cornel Pacurar: 24 moves.
6 pieces: Cornel Pacurar: 36 moves.
7 pieces: Arno Tüngler: 53 moves.
8 pieces: Arno Tüngler: 72 moves.
10 pieces: Ralf Krätschmer: 77 moves.
Category B2
4 pieces: Arno Tüngler: 6 moves.
5 pieces: Ralf Krätschmer, Arno Tüngler: 9 moves.
6 pieces: Ralf Krätschmer, Arno Tüngler: 16 moves.
7 pieces: Ralf Krätschmer, Arno Tüngler: 20 moves.
8 pieces: Arno Tüngler: 25 moves.
9 pieces: Cornel Pacurar: 26 moves.
10 pieces: Arno Tüngler, Ralf Krätschmer: 34 moves.
Arno leads the total number of records with 9 so far! | | (3) Posted by Itamar Faybish [Tuesday, Sep 28, 2010 20:54] | Hi,
