9 WCCT The results have been announced. Congrats to the winners. Russia is the clear winner followed by Ukrain and Israel. Trememdous job completed by Harry and his team. Great !
India did fairly wel finishing 11. Congrats to our star composer C.G.S.Narayanan on finishing first in the Threemover section and third place in the Two mover section. All the three of his entries in the 2/3 movers have finished in the top 20. All three entries of ours in the G section are also similarly placed (in the top 20). Commendable achievement.
Gavrilovski is the allrounder of the Tourney. Seven of his problems are in the Top 20 in SIX sections. |

Seetharaman, as far as I know, there was no team behind Harry. I think he did all this work alone. It is indeed a tremendous task. Luckily, it only happens once every three or four years.
Congratulations to the winners and to all the participants. Maybe if the French proposal to add a retro section in the next WCCT is accepted, even more composers (those of retros and proof games, who have been neglected in the WCCT, so far) will participate in future WCCTs. |

Really great work by Harry ! I just cant imagine the amount of time he must have spent on this. It took me several days to type and check/recheck my small award. Still there were errors which I had to correct later. On behalf of all the teams/composers I thank him again. |

Even more would participate if their respective federations asked them. |

:( And we are struggling with 4 active composers - if only we had a few more :( |

Many thanks for your kind words.
Take note that the PDF file has been updated twice after the initial release of September 9th.
Further details are on the page http://www.wfcc.ch/competitions/composing/9wcct-results/
Unfortunately I received the paper booklets from the printing house before we spot these mistakes (otherwise I could not bring with me the booklets to Batumi!). I am currently preparing an errata list that will be distributed together with the paper booklets.
For the database fans, all compositions of WCCT-9 (except for the studies) are included in the WinChloe update of September. Studies will be included in October. If someone contributing to other databases would like to have the positions in FEN or some other format, he may contact me at loyaldragon[at]gmail.com |

In section F, the now replaced (and cancelled) german comments are much more informative than the official ones. Thanks for whistleblowing. |

England (Great Britain) submitted just one problem for the threemovers and moremovers. R.C.O.Mathews is sadly irreplaceable. |
