Valentin Rudenko MT Award

Yuri Gordian asked me to publish the unofficial awards of this outstanding tourney (some in Russian, some in Ukrainian language).
Claims should be sent to him (gordian37@mail.ru) till 25.12.2016. Special memorial medals for 3 winners and judges in each section, as well as diplomas (for Pr. and HM) are promised by the company Yuzhnoe, where GM Rudenko spent all his professional life.

I couldn't resist briefly analyzing most of the rewarded entries, and was especially impressed by #3 section with not less than 12 Prizes.
Tastes always differ, but, please, take closer look at the 6th Prize (Agapov) with 3 different systems of play, and the 4th Prize (Davidenko) with ingenious reciprocal play, involving 5 different promotions.. Oh....

Medals for the judges too? An interesting and welcome idea!

The Agapov in the 3# section got 6th Prize, not 7th.
Rudenko himself has done similar themes.

As one would expect, a strong memorial tourney for a great composer, with great problems in the award.
Before opening the S# award, I made a bet with myself that Selivanov would've got the top honour. Just missed!

Wieland Bruch reports the 2nd Prize winner in the #2 section is largely anticipated by:
P. Farion, Sredba na Solidarnosta, 2001-2002, 2nd prize
attention: judge

Eugene, you say about this problem http://www.yacpdb.org/#233844, correct?

It appears, yes...the first two tries of the former problem show the same Sushkov mechanism and and same type of knight moves and pseudo LeGrand. Yes, there is a newly formed battery in Givi's problem and is shown in two phases, without the Hannelius. The thematic changed play in Givi's problem comes from the set play. Interesting comparison, one for Vasyl to work out!
