You might have heard that in a coup that noone ever could have imagined,
Hamburg St. Pauli (in all fairness: small in soccer, obscure in chess
but epic in fans) bought Carlsen. Yes, THAT Carlsen.
The following you surely have NOT heard. Because I made it up on the spot :-)
MatPlusForum: Mr. Buettner, you landed another coup. For the "St. Pauli
Problem Chess Solving Team" now plays Hauke Reddmann.
Buettner: That is correct.
MatPlusForum: You must have loads of money to burn.
Buettner: I admit that's a sensible point. Hauke demanded an apple and an egg.
After hard contract negotiations, we had him down on an apple alone.
This is still consideable dough, after all we could buy the whole 239th cleat
of the soccer shoe of our goalkeeper for the same amount. But we trust
in our fans, they will donate to keep us afloat. And think of the PR.
Hauke is a legend in Hamburg chess.
MatPlusForum: But a lousy one, he doesn't even have the FM solving title.
Buettner: You grow with your challenges. Also, buying from the TOP 5
would have been...politically ticklish. Our fans wouldn't honor that.

Solving Team Championship only open to countries?
