Now it is known, why Stockfish can’t solve the 5th example of my IQ test.
The following 4 positions will not solve any UCI (or chess) engine.
All: black to move and win.
(= 5+5 )
1...Qxh7
(= 5+7 )
1...Qxa6 (Qxb5, Qxd4)
(= 5+4 )
1...Qxc3
(= 4+4 )
1...Kg5 [now or later]
There is a wrong high score, and the queen makes a sequence of moves without any benefit. | | (2) Posted by Marek Kwiatkowski [Saturday, Feb 13, 2010 22:20] | I joined all my work into the article: "Crazy queen" and other problems with chess engines.

I see that nobody uses computer to create chess compositions. | | (3) Posted by Sarah Hornecker [Sunday, Feb 14, 2010 00:43] | Thanks for the article and bug report, but I really don't know what one should reply. You're right so everyone would agree. | | (4) Posted by Marek Kwiatkowski [Sunday, Feb 14, 2010 01:45] | Thanks for thanks! | | (5) Posted by Marek Kwiatkowski [Saturday, Feb 27, 2010 11:48]; edited by Marek Kwiatkowski [10-03-05] | Unfortunately, I found two examples of „crazy rook” too.
(= 4+5 )
1...Rxg5 wins
(= 5+5 )
1...Kf7 wins
Be aware, because it concerns studies, mainly. | | No more posts |
