The Chess Composers website says that Vladimir Pachman was a nephew of Josef Cumpe. Hooper and Whyld's "Oxford Companion to Chess" says great-nephew. Which is correct? With a fifty year age difference I'm inclined to think the latter.

V. Pachman in his introduction to "Vybrané šachové skladby Vladimíra Pachmana" (Praha 1972) (= Selected chess problems of Vladimír Pachman) writes, that Josef Cunmpe was his great-uncle (page 2).

Thank you both : the family relationship between Vladimir Pachman and Josef Cumpe has been corrected on the Chess Composers website.
