| | (1) Posted by Diyan Kostadinov [Thursday, Jul 24, 2014 07:28]; edited by Diyan Kostadinov [14-07-25] | Locust-Kangaroo; Locust-Lion? Can someone tell me is there a fairy piece which jumps over two pieces capturing them (probably Locust-Kangaroo?)
For example wLKa1, bPa3, bPa6: 1.LKxa3xa6-a7
I ask also about a piece such as a combination of Locust and Lion (jumps over a hardle and landing capturing the second piece - both pieces are captured).
For example: wLLa1, bPa3, bPa6: 1.LLxa3xa6
Is some of these pieces programed in Popeye or WinChloe and how can be included in the input file? | | (2) Posted by seetharaman kalyan [Thursday, Jul 24, 2014 20:11] | Once I thought of using a piece like Locust which can land anywhere beyond the hurdle while capturing it. However Diyan is looking for a Locust which will capture two hurdles. | | (3) Posted by Nikola Predrag [Friday, Jul 25, 2014 04:43]; edited by Nikola Predrag [14-07-25] | Locust-Lion which would capture both bPs by LLa1xa3xa6-a7 or both bPs by landing at a6? | | (4) Posted by Diyan Kostadinov [Friday, Jul 25, 2014 06:18]; edited by Diyan Kostadinov [14-07-26] | If the position is wLocust-Lion-a1, bPa3, bPa6, the move should be 1.LLxa3xa6
If the position is wLocust-Kangaroo-a1, bPa3, bPa6, the move should be 1.LKxa3xa6-a7
Is some of these pieces (probably with other names) exist? | | (5) Posted by Nikola Predrag [Friday, Jul 25, 2014 12:35] | Sorry Diyan, my mistake. You made it clear already in the 1st post. I confused the lines of your text.
The accidental result was a senseless "reciprocal change" :-) | | (6) Posted by Joost de Heer [Sunday, Jul 27, 2014 13:00] | A Double-locust, comparable with a double-grasshopper, would fit the description. | | (7) Posted by Nikola Predrag [Sunday, Jul 27, 2014 16:10] | DL(DoubleLocust) would probably be stronger than Diyan asks.
wDLa1,bPa3,bPa4
1.DLa1xa3xb4-c4 or perhaps the other interpretation
1.DLa1xa3xb4-c5
That should be defined in case of bPa3,bPa4
StraightDoubleLocust would not be able to change direction after the 1st capture (which DG can).
Locust-Kangaroo might be what Diyan wants, but that would mean that ordinary Locust is just a short name which means Locust-Grasshopper.
Locust-Lion would have quite a different meaning and the Diyans examples would require for instance Queen>Locust(Q>L) or Locust>Queen(L>Q).
Q>L first captures bPa3 and then bPa6, landing on a7, while L>Q lands on the square of capture a6.
Q>L would be the same as "StraightDoubleLocust".
In case of bPa3,a4, Q>L could capture both Pawns landing on a5 but L>Q could not capture any of them.
This case actually doesn't need the nature of Locust, StraightDoubleQueen(Rook) would do that job (but also in case of bPa3,a6). | | No more posts |
