Moscow/Chicco is a 2# theme. White threatens a double check.
The battery front piece aims on a unguarded field F. (At least
this is my definition which excludes the 5-variant setting
with a bQ interposing on both lines of the double check :-)
Black parries by interposing on the double check line by
a figure that also opens a guard line to F by line opening.
The parry introduces any error.
In the last SCHWALBE, P. Heyl showed 3 Moscow on the same field.
It seems that (except the setting I named - "64";Guljajew 1933)
not a single 5-variant problem exists. And even that has not
threat+5 variants but double threat and 4+1 differentiating.
Now Udo Degeners database knows much but not all. :-) Do you
know such a 5-variant problem? BTW, I immediately composed 4 Moscow
on the same field (SCHWALBE, submitted) so the theme not *that* hard.
(And if you ask "But Black has only 4 line figures" - think twice :-)

setting (with a lousy key, so I'm still working on it).

Eat my trousers! :P

* The key is still lousy, but that's not the cheating
part, which consists of three 2nd deg corrections on the
same field, with identical mate. | | No more posts |
